Awesome Racewear: Official Outfitter of SC Motorsports team:

London, Ontario, CAN.: Awesome Racewear, a leading manufacturer and world-wide distributor of high quality custom made motorsports racewear and safety equipment, brings their twenty years of expertice in designing and tailoring custom race uniforms to the SC Motorsports team beginning at this year's 47th annual Knoxville Nationals. The SC Motorsports team will wear one of a kind design crew shirts highlighting the team's sponsors and adding some punch to the overall appearance of the team in '07. Driver, Brian Carlson, will also be using his new Awesome Racewear drivers uniform at the Nationals and all events thereafter. Carlsons and Awesome got together under some very interesting circumstances. The team was competing in the World of Outlaws' first ever Canadian event held at Ohsweken Speedway, near Awesome Racewear's facility in London, Ontario. Carlson had this to say about their new partnership; "I'm really excited about this opportunity. Ken and Cheryl Pelkie, (promoters of Ohsweken Speedway), introduced us to the folks from Awesome after our race at Ohsweken. They put this deal together for us and put the ball in motion. It seems that the great folks at Awesome wanted to do something special for one of the underfunded teams competing in the entire World of Outlaws sprint series this year and chose to work with our team. This is really exciting because they, (Awesome Racewear,) have the ability to do some really cool designs that noone else is doing right now. I really needed a new uniform, and now the entire crew has matching crew shirts to boot!" This includes Carlson's two sons, AJ, age 5, and Seth, Age 2. " The kids are a big part of our team. Although you don't see them in the pit area much, they work just as hard as Mom and Dad at this deal, and now they get a little more recognition as being an integral part of our SC Motorsports team," offered team manager and proud Mom, Sarah Carlson. "We wanted something clean and professional looking, especially for the high profile races shown on television, like Knoxville. We were sure to acknowledge Ohsweken Speedway by including their log into Brian's uniform design. Kevin, Shannon, and everyone at Awesome did an unbelievable job here. I can't believe how quick they were able to put all this together. It was only a couple short weeks between our race in Canada and the Nationals, and we weren't home to even get most of the information, sizing, sponsor logos, etc, back to Awesome until we were about ready to head out again. By the time we arrived at Knoxville, the uniforms were there waiting for us. Now that's service!" Once the SC Motorsports driver saw his new uniform, he just beamed, "What more can I say, this is simply Awesome." Awesome Racewear has won the Knoxville Nationals best appearing crew award the past two years with drivers Chad Kemenah and Brooke Tatnell showcasing their crews' uniforms. They come ready to use, and are easily disposed of, unlike used grease rags and the sort that seem to collect in the shop and trailer.” “We’re always looking for new applications of our product. "We're excited to have Brad Penn Racing Oils showcased on a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Team," offered DND Oil owner, Danny Fisher. Staubli: official connectors for SC Motorsports Team

Orlando, FL. At the annual Performance Racing Industry Trade Show, Sarah Carlson, Manager of SC Motorsports, met with representatives from Staubli Corporation. Staubli manufacturers a quick disconnect high pressure connector that can be used on brake lines, wing lines, or any other application on a race car. "Racing puts every component to the test. If a piece can hold up to the rigors of racing a dirt sprint car with the World of Outlaws some 100 nights per year, then it will work on anything," SC Motorsports driver, Brian Carlson said. "Staubli is a household name in the F1 ranks. Their patented connectors can be found on most all of the teams cars," offered Sarah Carlson. In an effort to introduce the company's fine line of lightweight connectors to the already weight concious sprint car crowd, Carlson, and his SC Motorsports team, plan to utilize Staubli Connectors on some critical components of the sprinter throughout the entire season. "We will be using their lightweight aluminum quick disconnects on our brake lines and wing lines primarily. These connectors are really great for making quick front end or rear end changes without having to rebleed the brake system. It's not uncommon to have to replace a front end under an open red flag condition where you are pressured for time. The addition of the Staubli Connectors to our car will really enable our team to build and rebuild cars much more quickly, while providing a quality seal," Sarah Carlson said. For more information on Staubli, and it's full line of products, please visit their website at: www.Staubli.com.

SC Motorsports Teams up with AllStar Performance

The SC Motorports team, recognizably one of the smaller teams on the World of Outlaws roster for 2006, has teamed up with one of the big "players" in the industry when it comes to hard racing parts. AllStar Performance is a subsidiary of Lane Automotive, located in Watervliet, MI. When asked of their team's involvement, team manager, Sarah Carlson responded, "We have teamed up with some of the best suppliers to the open wheel industry to best outfit our sprint team this season, and AllStar Performance is no exception. Having owned a retail racing business for almost 20 years now, (specializing primarily in kart racing), it was only natural that we would want to expand our capabilities to handle more of the big car parts that we have been using in our own team for the past decade. We already deal direct with several manufacturers, but there's often times that you need a part right away, and can't wait for shipping from the west coast, or delayed production schedules. AllStar fills that gap perfectly for us." "We're very proud of the associations we have with many of the sport's leading manufacturers, but there's always that little "something" that you end up needing at the last minute. AllStar has it all...kinda like the Wal-Mart of the motorsports industry. For instance, we can count on AllStar and the entire Lane Automotive group to come through with hard engine parts that we don't deal direct on, but always seem to need in a pinch", offered team driver, and respected kart racing engine builder, Brian Carlson. The Lane Automotive group, which includes AllStar Performance and Motor State Distributing, offers a full line of racing supplies from all the top manufacturers. For more information on what AllStar Performance can do for you, please visit their website at: www.allstarperformance.com

SC Motorsports has signed on as part of the Mean 15 with the WoO Series!

Las Vegas, NV. Brian Carlson will be piloting the SC Motorsports #18 once again on the World of Outlaws trail. Only this time it will be full time for points as a member of the distinguished "Mean 15". "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity afforded to us, and there's just no way we could pass it up, " offered team driver, Brian Carlson. "We've spent nearly a year off from racing full time to rebuild our team and concentrate on our business and doing some tire testing for Hoosier tire in their new karting tires, so we're eager to get back out on the road," added Sarah Carlson, team manager for SC Motorsports. "The people at DIRT Motorsports have really brought the World of Outlaws to a level of competition that it has not seen in quite some time, if ever. Last year, ('05), they had 18 full time travelling members and had record crowds at many tracks. We're ready for the travel demands. We've done both the All Stars and Gumout Series six years on the road, and have proven we can be there every night. Now we are taking our race team to the next level. We are hoping to secure sponsorship to make our team competitive with the very best in the country, and the folks at DIRT are committed to helping us reach that goal," offered Carlson. While many of the marquee names will be gone from the nationwide travelling series for 2006, driver, Brian Carlson notes, "That may not be all bad. This gives a lot of guys that might be long on talent and short on funds a "chance" to race with the best of the best. While Steve is obviously the best at what he does, we all know he won't be around forever. While Steve Kinser will not be on the WoO trail this year, this is going to encourage more local guys to show up and race with the Outlaws and get their shot at 15 minutes of fame," said Carlson. The World of Outlaws has 50+ prime time slots on the Outdoor Channel. With some of the previous top names now missing from the line-up each night, that will surely enable the producers to share the limelight with some new names and faces to sprint car fans across the country. "We're very excited to be a part of the World of Outlaws and their Mean 15. This is a big challenge for us, and we are looking forward to a great year on the road again." Sarah Carlson, team manager, SC Motorsports. With those challenges on the track, come even greater ones off the track: The challenge of securing sponsors to help with all the expenses of fielding a sprint car on, obviously, one of the most grueling schedules in all of motorsports. "The financial end of this deal is staggering," Carlson said, "new motors need purchased, and they need to be freshened more often. Then there are a lot of "consumables:" More fuel, oil, and tires will be gone through, wings, front ends, etc. That's not even considering the occasional crashes that are bound to happen. We are looking to get some help from sponsors for these types of expenses to keep our team in the best of equipment throughout the entire race season. It's a year long effort really. We are concentrating currently on things that are of immediate need, for example, a bigger trailer, to hold all the extra equipment we'll need to carry to support the team on the road. We'll also need to increase our engine inventory with some better qualifying engines. If we can get some help with big items, and some product help on a lot of the more consumable items to do this deal right, we can really work hard year-round to promote our sponsors through our team. On track exposure is just a small portion of our team's marketing plan. We show the car every chance we get for our sponsors. Sponsorship is a two way street. We're not asking for handouts. We want to work with a company to better promote their product line. We're available to do just that. Trade shows, open houses, grand openings, you name it." "Right now our team is a great bargain in motorsports marketing. We may not have the marquee name of a Kinser or Swindell, but we have a lot else to offer. Honestly, a little goes a long way with our team. We have much less overhead, we're a family based team with strong moral values, and have as much desire as anyone out their to succeed." said Brian Carlson. "I'm a the point in my life when I've got to do this now. This opportunity is what so many teams wish they could have. It would be wrong of us to dismiss this chance and not take full advantage of this opportunity. Several other drivers have called us in the past couple weeks to wish us well, and expressed that they wish they were able to do what we're doing now. There's literally thousands of fans in the stands that dream they could travel with the World of Outlaws...we're just fortunate enough to live out those dreams for them and ours too." For sponsor information with the SC Motorsports #18 and Brian Carlson, please contact the Carlsons at: (765) 339-4407 or on the web at: www.CarlsonMotorsports.com

Welcome Spike Products

Brownsburg, IN. For several years we have been unhappy with the choices available for oil tank manufacturers and the customer service on our previous radiator supplier. Brand "X" just wasn't very good quality, and better quality products were not cost effective. On the other hand, if we didn't run an indy car, there was no time for our needs. Enter, John Godfrey and Spike Products. Our search for a supplier for quality aluminum products, like dry sump oil tanks and aluminum radiators, has come up with what we believe to be the best quality products at a very competitive price. You may remember John as the founder of Stealth chassis before moving onto other projects. John's latest venture finds him building some really trick radiators and other aluminum racing parts. Always a great guy to deal with, the SC Motorsports team couldn't be happier to be dealing and representing the Spike Racing Products line.

Reed Cams back on board!

Several years ago, Reed cams was involved with the SC Motorsports team through their sponsorship with the ALL Stars Circuit of Champions. "It is with great pleasure that we are back together with the fine folks at Reed Cams," said Sarah Carlson, marketing manager for the SC Motorsports team. Reed's association with the SC Motorsports team promises to be a big help in the performance of the engines as well as the team providing valuable feedback on the products. "I think that most sprint car drivers and car owners just kinda let the cam selection, among other parts, up to their engine builders. Anymore, teams are looking for every competitive edge they can get, and working with the manufacturers direct may just be the answer," said team driver, Brian Carlson. "Of course," Carlson concedes," it's always best to check with your engine builder first, but if you are looking for something extra, rather than just the same part as the guy lined up next to you, you have to do a little homework." Sarah Carlson continues, "That is where the fine people of Reed Cams are involved. We have used their products in the past and were very pleased. Until this year, we haven't devoted much effort to developing horsepower. We have been pretty much restricted by our budget, Reed's sponsorship help with the team will be invaluable!" Look for the Reed Cams logo on the SC Motorsports #18 sprinter at a track near you. More information about Reed Cams and their full product line can be seen at:

"Advanced Sleeves has been making sleeves for high performance applications and the fine people at Advanced Sleeve were willing to work with our demands and were most eager to learn more about our sprint car engines and the sprint market in general." K&N Filters "filter-charges" SC Motorsports team in 2002!

Riverside, CA: K&N Filters, the leader in filter technology has agreed to sponsor the SC Motorsports #18 team for 2002. The team previously used exclusively K&N air filters for the sprint car team, but was looking to update to the newer "air box" which flows significantly better to produce more horsepower. Sarah Carlson, team manager, also states, "the new air box design will be easier to maintain between races. We are looking to update all of our engines at the same time to regain some continuity in our engine program. Nothing is more frustrating than to be on the road and need to rob parts off one engine to put on another. Racing is a sport where minutes, even seconds count. Having the new K&N Filter Charger air boxes on all of our engines will help tremendously." Brian Carlson, team driver, adds, "We are always looking to improve our team's performance. K&N's involvement is going to be a big help this year. This new air box not only is going to help the engine breathe better, but it's also made of carbon fiber, so we're shedding a few pounds as well." Be sure to check out the new K&N air boxes on the SC Motorsports #18 at a track near you. To learn more about K&N and all their fine products, please click on the direct link below.
